About Us
Sanctuary began as a ministry of Lee and Hugh LeVoy who were married 52 years, with three grown children and nine wonderful grandchildren. After many family vacations in Door County, Wisconsin, Lee and Hugh grew to love the solitude and beauty of woods, water and meadow. They bought 17 acres in a remote area north of Ellison Bay, and built the cabin, which is adjacent to their home.
Lee and Hugh moved from Chicago in ’99, to live in their home near Ellison Bay. Their retreat cabin is offered to individuals and couples who seek quiet and solitude, for reflection and renewal.
Lee is a spiritual director, and a member of Spiritual Directors International. Hugh was a retired principal and writer who passed away in February 2020.
